Strut Types

D-Struts

These struts are designed to work on most cars. The aluminum base is thick enough to allow for machining if necessary to fit variuos deck lid contours.

The base has counter bored holes on the bottom for anchor pin alignment.

The profile of the vertical plate has been engineered for uniform bending stress in response to side loading using finite element analysis (FEA) to ensure the most efficient use of material. Type "D" Struts use a 5/16" spherical bearing at the top for the main interface with the strut receiver.

A-Struts

These struts are just like the "D" Struts above, only 2" taller for cars requiring a higher "off-the-deck" wing height. They incorporate the same design features and hardware as the "D" Strut.

E-Struts

These struts share the same profile as the vertical plate in the "D" Strut. However, there is no base welded on the "E" Strut. The bottom of the strut runs long and is designed for semi-universal side mounting or below deck mounting applications where a welded base cannot be used. Type "E" Struts use a 5/16" spherical bearing at the top for the main interface with the strut receiver.

FR-Struts...The one picked by Ford Racing for use on their Boss 302S race cars.

These struts are designed to fit the 2010+ Mustang deck lid profile. The aluminum base is contoured to fit the complex curved surface of the Mustang deck lid for a straight forward installation and clean appearance.

The base has counter bored holes on the bottom for anchor pin alignment. The profile of the vertical plate has been engineered in conjunction with Ford Racing for uniform bending stress in response to side loading using finite element analysis (FEA) and wind tunnel tested by Ford to obtain the optimal height for the wing to obtain maximum downforce. Like all of the G-Stream Struts these also use a 5/16" spherical bearing at the top for the main interface with the strut receiver.
